County says Bug Tussel connections complete for county sites; $97,500 cybersecurity grant approved

Hartman and IT Director Jason Rhodes reported the county has completed Bug Tussel connectivity to requested county sites, that connected sites are on the county system and have Wi‑Fi, and that work is underway to add those sites to the county phone system. Rhodes said portions of Minocqua and Three Lakes are now live and that the county should see increased customers at connected locations.
Rhodes told the committee the county secured a State and Local Cybersecurity Grant (2023‑SLCGP‑01‑14690) for $97,500 to support security updates; he said the grant will reduce projected costs in the 2027 budget. On a motion by Dan Hess, seconded by Russ Fisher, the committee approved acceptance of the grant and authorized the County Board Chair to sign the award documentation.
