At the Oct. 15 meeting the commissioners were presented with three recommendations from the City of Salem to fill a vacancy on the Washington County Health Department Board: Bennie Moore, Dr. Ron Kearschner and Brittany Garloch. Attorney April Geltmaker noted the appointment must satisfy I.C. 16-20-2-4(B)(2)(3) and that the nominees meet state requirements for the position and would serve four-year terms if appointed.
The commissioners took the names under advisement and deferred action; the minutes indicate they will make the appointment at the Nov. 6, 2024 meeting. The transcript does not record any debate, endorsements, or objections to the individual nominees.
