Washington County commissioners approved a one-year renewal of a fire-protection contract with Johnson Controls for the county detention center during their Sept. 4 meeting. The minutes state Johnson Controls provided a renewal contract in the amount of $9,119.00 a year and that the contract is set to renew at the end of the month.
Commissioner Todd Ewen moved to approve the renewal and Commissioner Rick Roberts seconded; the motion passed. The minutes record the action but do not list a vote roll call or an effective start date beyond the statement that the contract is set to renew at the end of the month.
