Select Board approves minutes, permits and tax forms in routine July session

The Select Board of the Town of Orange met July 7, 2026, and approved routine items including the public minutes of June 16 and nonpublic minutes of June 30. Tamara Fairbank moved to accept the public minutes and the motion passed 3–0–0, with Dustin Ward seconding.
The board also approved a building permit for Loren Cass of 647 Tuttle Hill Road (Map 4 Lot 21) for a home renovation after the Building Inspector reviewed the application and fee. The board signed abatement refunds recommended by Avitar for Peter and Lisa Shank (627 Tuttle Hill Rd, Map 4 Lot 20) and for Gary Hamel (111 Tuttle Hill Rd, Map 3 Lot 63); both refunds were approved by motion, each passing 3–0–0. Tamara Fairbank moved the abatement actions and Samara Pitre and Dustin Ward joined in subsequent votes.
Additionally the board signed Land Use Change Tax forms A5 and A5W for Walter Jon Hammond (Route 4, Map 1 Lot 42A‑3) following a motion by Fairbank, seconded by Chair Samara Pitre, which passed 3–0–0. The Select Board also signed a letter acknowledging a donated half‑acre parcel from Terhune Family LTD Partnership for the Town Shed and affirmed that no goods or services were exchanged for the donation.
Bills and vouchers were reviewed and signed. The board confirmed its next meeting for Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at 6:00 p.m.
