The board approved a voucher for Crewless Marine Acoustics LLC to develop manufacturing capacity for hydrophones and related sensor arrays for unmanned surface vehicles.
Staff (S2) described the project as supporting production-line development, third-party prototype verification and quality-control measures so the company can offer scalable acoustic arrays to fleets of unmanned platforms. "Steve Bordenaro, cofounder of Crewless Marine, is here tonight to answer any questions," staff said; Bordenaro and other presenters said they expect to leverage the Bay Campus and university partnerships to grow manufacturing and workforce capacity.
Board members asked about current employee counts and growth projections; presenters said they plan to scale manufacturing and work with local partners and tech-bridge programs. The board moved, seconded and approved the voucher by voice vote.
