The county held a first reading of an ordinance on Dec. 3 to clarify how the deputy ambulance director should accrue time; after consulting with legal counsel (Waggoner, Irwin & Scheele) the draft provided to the board proposed making the deputy ambulance director an exempt employee with benefits.
At the Dec. 17 meeting the ordinance was read again and, with no questions from the public, Commissioner Rick Roberts moved to approve the ordinance and Commissioner Todd Ewen seconded. The motion passed and the transcript records the deputy ambulance director position will be treated as exempt with benefits going forward.
