"Out of the 186,000 signatures required to collect, we collected over 300,000," Ball told the commission, and said that public support could prevent the most painful service cuts. Other commenters recounted long histories of relying on AC Transit, called for better fare compliance and suggested route‑level changes (including targeted reshaping of infrequent or circuitous lines such as Line 19) to increase ridership and efficiency.
Commissioners and AC Transit staff thanked residents for input and noted the Board will consider the contingency plan and outreach schedule ahead of the fall ballot timeline.
