Farragut approves $31,899 Microsoft 365 license upgrade to strengthen email security

At the July 23 meeting Travis Ramsey, the town's IT director, asked the board to approve funding to upgrade Microsoft 365 licenses for staff to strengthen email security, authentication and device management.
"Staff is requesting funding to upgrade these licenses ... up to the amount of $31,899.08," Ramsey said, and noted the funding is included in the fiscal year 2027 budget under the IT department's dues and subscriptions. He recommended using Sourcewell contract number 121923SHI to make the purchase.
There were no public speakers on the item and aldermen had no substantive questions. The board voted to approve the purchase and the recorder noted the approval at approximately 6:18 p.m.
