Council grants extension to Schmader Electric as transformers delayed for Hwy 275 relocation

City Administrator Randy Woldt told the council that Schmader Electric sought an extension on its contract completion date for the 2026 Hwy 275 utility relocation project because transformers could not be delivered on schedule. Woldt said the transformers have since arrived and been installed and that a walk-through with the contractor is planned for later in the week. On a motion by Councilmember Barry Meyer, seconded by Councilmember LJ Parker, the council approved Change Order #1 to extend Schmader Electric's completion date due to material availability; the motion carried unanimously.
Woldt also reported that Obrist is expected back in town to continue work on the lift station and that he had not yet received confirmation that recent water samples have passed. The council recorded no objections to the change-order extension; staff will coordinate the contractor walk-through and monitor outstanding testing results as the project continues.
