Residents press for consistent roadside mowing; board considers forming a road committee

One resident said the mowing program has been “so sporadic and irregular” and proposed regular, consistent acreage work each year to avoid the perception of over- or under-mowing. “It needs to be done the same every year,” the resident said.
The idea of creating a volunteer road committee received support as a way to provide regular monitoring, prioritize culvert replacement and ditching and advise the board on equipment lifecycle and grant opportunities. The committee would report issues (e.g., brush, blocked culverts) to the Select Board and help the town assign priorities for the road crew or contracted mowing.
