Elena Greenlee, who introduced herself as the Farmers Market’s new executive director, told the Select Board the market will focus vendor parking on the Railroad Street side of the town green to reduce overlap with churchgoers. “My name is Elena Greenlee. I’m the new executive director of Bridal,” she said, and described a plan to have vendors park at a bank lot off Railroad Street and Woodland Street so market visitors are closer to stands.
Josh Moore, the pastor of Red Door Church, described how the congregation depends on public parking on Sunday mornings and urged the market to avoid taking those spaces. “So I’m the pastor of the Red Door Church in town, and…we don’t own any parking, except maybe 3 spaces behind our building,” he said, adding the church typically does not clear out quickly after services and worries about available parking.
Board members encouraged coordination and a short trial: staff (speaker 2) recommended vendors be instructed to park at the bank lot and Railroad Street and to use the vendor parking plan the market will circulate to vendors. The board asked organizers to report back after the first few market dates so members can decide whether additional adjustments are needed.
