Residents urge Homer Glen trustees to oppose two rezonings on 159th Street

Pasella asked trustees to exercise their zoning authority to match residents' preferences when the formal votes occur and stressed the difference between rezoning and development rights: "A rezone isn't development, and no 1 has the right to 1. It's the board's choice." She called for trustees to weigh traffic circulation, ingress/egress and compatibility with adjacent commercial uses cited in the village's own 2015 analysis. The board did not take action on the rezonings during public comment; the speaker recommended the trustees align their future votes with the petition's concerns.
