Following an executive session on litigation, personnel and real estate, the board approved transferring two parcels on Upper Riverdale Road to the Georgia Department of Transportation. The larger parcel was listed as approximately 5.10532 acres (23,157.84 sq ft listed in the staff summary) and the second parcel approximately 1.506 acres (65,615.80 sq ft listed). The board authorized the chairwoman to execute any documents necessary and authorized the chief financial officer to amend the budget to reflect appropriate revenue and expense adjustments.
The board also approved a set of civil-service settlements addressing claims against the sheriff's office, listing named claimants including Michael Hensley, Keith McLaughlin, Terry Lee, Heather Roscoe, Sandy Manning, Patrick Lewellen, Nerissa Edwards and Rebecca Patterson. The board authorized the CFO to make the related budget changes to fund the agreements.
