The Linn Valley City Council adopted a new brush-pile policy that allows residents to dispose of small trees and brush at a staffed city site on a recurring schedule.
Chair introduced the proposal and the fire department representative described the plan: the burn/brush pile would be open an attended afternoon after monthly training, tentatively on the third Saturday of each month. Staff emphasized operator discretion for safety and said the site operator would have final authority on acceptable material. The council included eligibility rules requiring proof of property ownership in Linn Valley (or a POA statement) and said commercial deliveries would be prohibited.
Council discussed technical limits discussed at the meeting: speakers referenced a proposed limit on firewood diameter ("nothing over 8 inches" was raised) and clarified that loose leaves or grass are excluded from the pile. Members also discussed site security measures, including a lockable gate and a sign or camera to deter dumping of trash.
