The mayor said he had contacted the police chief and the city attorney before bringing in the firm and emphasized the aim is to identify and fix security weaknesses, not to "head hunt" or "make accusations." He told the council he would keep members informed and include them if additional authority or funds are required.
The council did not take further formal action on funding during the meeting; the mayor said the next step is to await the IT report and then decide whether to request additional council approval.
