During public comment, resident Sandy Brodeur told the Board of Selectmen to expect legal fees related to the merging of the town’s fire departments, noting attorneys are reviewing proposed new by-laws and a constitution. First Selectman Joe Bellavance responded that he and Shelley Cates would discuss who would be responsible for the legal fees.
The board did not take a formal vote on the matter during the meeting but recorded the comment and said staff would follow up on cost responsibility. Separately, Selectman Sherri Vogt notified attendees that the Veterans Stand Down is scheduled for Sept. 18, 2026, at six regional locations.
