Board honors longtime staffers John Littlefield and Terry Napier at July meeting

The Suffolk City School Board publicly recognized two longtime employees at the July 23 meeting. Superintendent Dr. John B. Gordon III presented a plaque to John Littlefield in acknowledgment of his decades of service, saying Littlefield had helped map connectivity needs across the city during COVID and build partnerships to expand access. Littlefield told the board he spent 28 years in Suffolk schools and expressed gratitude for his colleagues and the community.
Dr. Gordon also introduced Terry Napier, former director of facilities maintenance and planning, and presented him with a commemorative plaque. Board members praised Napier’s institutional knowledge and ability to stretch limited maintenance dollars. Both retirees received remarks from multiple board members and were thanked for their contributions to the district.
