Board spotlights SROs, counselors and middle‑school football program

Superintendent Miss Mitchell opened the meeting by recognizing several counselor and Family Resource/Youth Center coordinators across the district and asking the audience to thank them for their service.

Miss Mitchell also named the district’s school resource officers and asked the room to show appreciation for their work protecting students on each campus. "We are super grateful ... our board invests in the safety of our students and our staff," she said.

Coach Brian Hollman was introduced and honored as a Kentucky Middle School Hall of Fame member. Hollman and his staff then recognized numerous players for seasonal awards; Hollman praised his players and coaches and noted the personal and character development he expects from the program.

A parent in the audience later thanked Coach Hollman directly: "you are a great coach, you're great with interacting with kids ... you gave our middle one the opportunity to change plays at the line of scrimmage and that built his confidence," the parent said.

Board members and attendees applauded the students, staff and officers throughout the recognitions portion of the meeting.
