Douglas Library posts fall events calendar including school visits, book club and holiday workshops

The Douglas Library Board reviewed an events calendar that includes school and community programming through December and into next year. The library will be closed Oct. 13 for Indigenous Peoples/Columbus Day; Aha students visit Oct. 15; NCES first graders visit Oct. 27 for library cards; Book Club meets Oct. 29 at 2:00; and the library will host Halloween decorating Oct. 29 with treats and extended hours until 8:00.
Other scheduled items include community-service card writing for veterans on Nov. 5 from 3:00 to 6:00, Mahjong sessions on the first Mondays in Nov.–Jan., a holiday card making workshop on Nov. 24, a centerpiece-making workshop Dec. 8, and a children's gingerbread-house activity (date TBD). The board noted planning for a local-author talk in spring with Peter Vermilyea.
