Resident urges DuPage Forest Preserve to invest in Meadow Creek golf course

Susan Seinmiller, introduced by the mayor during the open forum, urged the Village of Westmont to press DuPage County Forest Preserve officials to invest in the Meadow Creek/Forest Preserve golf course, which she described as "dated" and lacking basic amenities. "They are gonna spend $2,000,000 on the irrigation system in 2 to 3 years," she told the board, and said there is no planned spending in the meantime to address flooding, uneven cart paths, or seating.
Seinmiller listed a short "wish list" of near-term improvements — patio furniture, water at the 4th hole, a solar-powered vending machine — and longer-term ideas such as a new place to eat and meet. She said her group surveyed around 100 golfers and shared photographs and recommendations with the mayor and staff. She also reported collecting 7,474 petitions to place a mental-health referendum on the November ballot and asked the board to endorse the ballot initiative.
Mayor Nero thanked Seinmiller for the report, said staff would contact the forest-preserve representatives about Westmont's concerns, and promised to circulate the submitted materials to the board for follow-up.
