Board hears Selectmen's report: MetCalf chosen for North Elm Street paving; truck-body purchase tabled

During Selectmen's Time Selectman Whiting read a report from Selectman Ohler summarizing bids for pavement work on North Elm Street. Highway lead Mike Simmons reported two bids and the town selected MetCalf for the work based on price and the job proposal; town road-aid funds will pay for the paving.
Selectman Whiting also relayed that Mike Simmons had received information from vendor Everest about an all-season body for the new truck costing roughly $175,000, which would shorten delivery to 5–8 months rather than about 18 months but would require approval at a town meeting. Chairman Doug Humes asked to defer the truck-body discussion until Selectman Ohler could be present; the board voted to table the discussion, with Mr. C. Allyn recorded as the lone "no" vote and the motion carried by majority.
