Council discusses village hall survey; members push explicit ADA language

Council member Alexa presented draft survey questions proposing that the village explore acquiring property for a multi-use village hall, administrative space and community events. Alexa said the aim is a more accessible, ADA-compliant space that could consolidate offices and provide indoor and outdoor community space.
Resident Elizabeth Goldberg and other council members asked that accessibility be stated explicitly in the survey's opening language. "It wouldn't hurt to get other people's input on what should be on the questionnaire...I think something more explicit on accessibility, ADA compliant in particular, would be important," Goldberg said. The council agreed to forward the draft questions to the village's survey contractor to format and incorporate into the annual survey later in the fall.
