Council pauses award, asks staff to compare engineered lift‑station bids with smaller in‑stock pumps

Council discussed constructibility, three‑phase power needs, vault and panel requirements, and pump capacity differences (the engineered design called for roughly 1,600 gpm equipment). Staff said some Gator options would require vaults and control panels and that an apples‑to‑apples cost table is needed because certain installation costs may not be reflected in vendor quotes.
Staff committed to produce a side‑by‑side comparison of the engineered design versus the Gator pump alternative within about two weeks and to present findings at a follow‑up work session scheduled for Nov. 17 so the council can decide before bids expire (bidders stated validity through mid‑January). Council did not record a formal award during the work session.
