Rob Collins described a proposal to apply for a second home‑based business use at his Stone Road property to cover activities that have arisen during the brewerys operation, including occasional food service, small community classes and low‑impact events. Collins said the proposal is intended to regularize uses that are not currently considered accessory to the brewery and to keep activities low impact: limited events, no amplified outdoor music and no overnight sheltering.
"We're not proposing camping, not proposing sleepovers, nothing like that," Collins said, adding the site can serve as a place for residents to warm or cool during extended outages and to recharge devices. The board said it will post Collins application packet on the town website and requested the applicant help lead board members through the document at the Aug. 4 meeting; public comments and planning review were expected at that hearing. The clerk also reported the board had received correspondence from neighbors (identified in meeting materials) expressing concerns about the brewery operation; those letters will be available for review at the town office.
