Dr. Dessau: Auburn Washburn MAP results show district at or above national norms

"Anywhere you see green shows where we perform above the national norm," Dr. Dessau said while highlighting the district's scaled scores and growth percentiles. He explained that MAP reports include scaled scores, observed growth and growth percentiles, and that the district uses those data points to guide instructional planning and PLC discussions.
Dr. Dessau described the assessment schedule (fall in August, winter in December, and again in May) and said the district is using multiple data points to identify curriculum issues and target supports. He noted that observed growth percentiles are generally average to high across the district and emphasized the value of ongoing PLC work to sustain and respond to results.
Board members asked clarifying questions about how MAP projects expected growth and how to interpret a zero on the "difference from expected growth" metric; Dr. Dessau explained that the measure compares where students were expected to be with where they are and that the district will continue monitoring a third data point in spring before presenting a full-year summary.
