Representatives of the Milford Lions Club and the Milford Lions Festival Committee asked the council for three items: portable toilets for the festival, police help to post signs and enforce street closures beginning early Friday (requested start 4:00 a.m. noted), and access to a 220-volt outlet for an ice-cream fundraiser. Councilors approved street closures consistent with last year's map, authorized purchase of portable restrooms and directed staff to facilitate safe electrical access or a generator rather than allowing volunteers to jury-rig wiring.
Council emphasized communication with downtown businesses about closures and asked the organizers to provide maps and signage plans. The council also clarified that use of town electrical panels must be done safely and under direction of staff, and staff agreed to investigate a secured breaker-box solution or a generator prior to the event.
