The Osmond City Council on Sept. 8 adopted the FY2025-26 budget and passed Resolution No. 2025-6 to set the city's 2025-26 property tax request. The resolution sets the General Fund property tax request at $307,389.12 and the Bond Fund at $165,000.00 and proposes a tax rate of 0.691551 per $100 of assessed value; council recorded that the rate that would have produced last year's levy on the new assessment is 0.676258.
Councilman Douglas A. Schmit moved to adopt the budget following the budget hearing earlier that evening; Councilman Daniel E. Timmerman seconded the motion, and the roll call vote was unanimous. Mayor Dennis M. Kuhl declared the resolution passed and ordered a certified copy forwarded to the county clerk by Oct. 15, 2025 as required by state law (Neb. Rev. Stat. §§77-1632 and 77-1633).
