Roseville Chamber asks for increased town funding, offers quarterly reporting in MOU

Malcolm Allen, executive director of the Roseville Chamber of Commerce, presented a progress report and a proposed memorandum of understanding seeking town partnership funding for FY2627. Allen said the chamber has reorganized, grown membership by about 33% and increased revenue through events, and he asked the board to consider a revised MOU that would fund specific programs such as youth leadership, Launch Roseville and barbecue & bands. "We now have a great working relationship with the town and community partners," Allen said.
Commissioners pressed for transparency and measurable outcomes: several asked for recent financial statements and a clear plan showing exactly how the requested increase would be allocated. Town legal counsel confirmed the draft MOU requires quarterly financial reports to be submitted to town finance, a change staff included to improve oversight. Commissioners asked the chamber to return with updated finances and more specific performance metrics before the board executes the MOU.
