Florence board approves routine minutes, claims docket and travel to MML meeting

The Florence Mayor and Board approved routine administrative items including the mid-month claims docket and the minutes of the Aug. 5, 2025 meeting. Alderman John Banks moved to approve the mid-month claims docket; Alderman Brian Grantham moved to approve the Aug. 5 minutes. Both motions carried unanimously.
The board also authorized Mayor Trey Gunn and Alderman Brian Grantham to attend the Municipal League Board of Directors meeting in Tupelo on Sept. 19, 2025, with the city covering related costs as allowed by state law. The board earlier authorized Community Development Director Joel Sims to attend a winter conference (Dec. 3–5, 2025) with a $250 registration fee covered by the city.
