The Florence board approved several public-works expenditures at its Nov. 4 meeting. On recommendation of Street Director David Myers, the board accepted AJ Construction, Inc.'s low quote of $5,000.00 to perform a 6" asphalt patch on Main Street; a competing quote from Pavepro for $6,500.00 was noted.
Park Director Mark Hester presented two park-related quotes. The board approved Brandon Concrete, LLC's $4,500.00 quote to replace a damaged concrete pad at the community center and accepted Nathaneal Smith's $5,542.00 quote to furnish and install fence slats on the north and south sides of the tennis courts (compared with JM Fence Company's $7,473.00). All motions were made and seconded by aldermen and carried by unanimous vote.
