Director Adam Bunce told commissioners that the pool season is finished and the pool has been drained while the town waits for contractors Merit to close it out and Perotti to shut off the water; both firms are on the town's calendars. Bunce said he has made repeated repair attempts on the pool railing but noted ongoing problems.
Bunce also reported operational updates for youth sports: soccer programs are underway and are accommodating children from neighboring towns because of coach shortages elsewhere; softball has 19 girls registered and the program is hoping to schedule four games with Barkhamsted. Fall ball is active with Major and Minor groups and the fields are ready. Bunce said Bobby is stepping down as president of the softball organization and basketball recreation directors will meet soon to plan the upcoming season; Housy Hoops will remain a separate program.
