Adams County schedules public-hearing room ADA renovation; hearings to shift temporarily

County staff outlined an ADA upgrade for the public-hearing room with construction starting Sept. 7, a closure window Nov. 16–Dec. 28, and a projected completion/permit sign-off on Feb. 3; public hearings will be held in alternate conference rooms with AV and security plans during the closure.
Facilities staff presented the ADA-accessibility renovation plan for the public-hearing room and confirmed a construction schedule designed to avoid interfering with November elections. Staff said construction would begin Sept. 7, temporary construction walls would go up Sept. 8, and an intense closure window for carpet removal and related work is planned Nov. 16–Dec. 28; estimated final completion and permitting is Feb. 3. "We have a schedule that we think is the election-informed schedule," a facilities presenter said, noting business continuity and voter-access protections.
During the closure, public hearings will be moved to the Platte River conference rooms with AV, microphones and security coordination; staff said they will provide a full security and access briefing to the board ahead of the transition. The county confirmed prior formal approval of the project's GMP at a public hearing the previous day and said staff will continue outreach to communicate temporary access and wayfinding.
