Adams County highlights multimillion-dollar interchange grant, transit projects and I‑270 EIS milestone

Transportation staff updated the board on several major regional projects and funding steps. "This is a giant construction project," a transportation staff member said, and staff said they will coordinate regional partners to determine the local match and project phasing.
Staff also said the county expects an award for a three-year PECOS Connect multi-transit project and is budgeting for a 2027 implementation request. Separately, staff reported that the I‑270 final Environmental Impact Statement is about to be signed and that CDOT plans a signing ceremony at its headquarters on Aug. 20 at 1 p.m.; staff invited board participation for the event and noted that the EIS completion precedes forthcoming design and construction milestones.
