Adams County commissioners pause linkage-fee action to weigh traffic-fee update

County staff recommended pausing formal consideration of a proposed nonresidential linkage fee until the board receives a full picture of development-fee impacts, including an upcoming traffic impact-fee presentation. "Staff's recommendation is essentially to solicit feedback ... and then pause until after we get through the August 5 traffic impact fee conversation," the presenting staff member said.
Multiple commissioners said they preferred a pause rather than moving forward in isolation; one commissioner said the additional analysis would better protect the county from unintended market or legal consequences. The board coalesced around a temporary pause and scheduled an August 19 wrap-up meeting to consider the linkage fee together with other development-fee items.
