CDD flags budget timing problem: roll-back rate arrives after proposed budget deadline

Kennington-Korf said this statutory timing mismatch complicates the budget process and suggested the district could seek legislative relief, but that in the near term the Board should consider adopting a higher rate because it can be reduced at the next budget meeting but not increased.
District Attorney Amy Thibaut confirmed that the issue has been discussed with staff and said the Board could request legislative change if it wishes to do so; she advised adopting the higher rate now as the conservative administrative approach. The minutes record the discussion for follow up as the budget process continues.
