Owensville declares 2016 Chevrolet 2500 surplus; parks items to be reoffered

The Board approved a motion April 7 to declare a 2016 Chevrolet 2500 double-cab truck (approx. 80,000 miles) with a snowplow attachment as surplus property to be sold by sealed bid or, if needed, at public auction (Purple Wave). The motion was made by Alderman Bohl, seconded by Alderman Lahmeyer, and "carried without dissent."
Parks & Recreation staff reported no sealed bids for four units of basket lockers; the Parks Director asked to continue selling them at a unit price or by best offer and the Board agreed to continue marketing the items through additional outlets. The truck will be advertised locally first and then placed on auction sites if bids do not meet expectations.
