Port LaBelle CDD accepts 2023–24 audit; auditor reports unmodified opinion

District auditor Jeff Tuscan presented the Port LaBelle CDD's 2023–24 audit at the March 13 meeting and told the board the firm issued "an unmodified opinion," the highest level of assurance an auditor can provide. Tuscan stated he found "no material weaknesses and no instances of non-compliance" and described the District as being in good financial condition with substantial unassigned fund balances.
Following the presentation, Chairman Jason Martinez moved to accept the audit and Vice Chairman Liz Garcia seconded; the Board "RESOLVED AND APPROVED" acceptance of the audit as presented. The acceptance means the Board will incorporate the audited financial statements into the District's records and follow any standard reporting steps required by policy.
