Port LaBelle board adopts tentative millage of 4.7724% and tentative FY2025-26 budget

The Port LaBelle Community Development District Board of Supervisors voted Thursday to set a tentative millage rate of 4.7724% for tax year 2025–26 and approved a tentative operating budget of $4,008,694.98 and a capital projects budget of $2,045,796.65.
Vice Chairman Liz Garcia moved the resolutions and Supervisor Nancy Imhoff seconded. The board adopted Resolution 2025-6 establishing the tentative millage; the roll call on that motion was Garcia yes, Imhoff yes, Fernando Herrera yes and Nathan Hollis no. The minutes record the gross taxable value on a consolidated basis as $629,939,192 from DR420 certification by the Glades and Hendry county property appraisers and state that the adopted tentative levy is 31.395% above the current-year rolled-back rate of 3.6321.
General Manager Judi Kennington-Korf told residents the district posts audits, agendas, meeting minutes and budgets on its website to ensure transparency: "The district is required to post the audit, agendas, meeting minutes, and budgets on its website." That comment came during a long public-comment period in which several residents urged the board to adopt a lower millage and to prioritize road repairs.
The board also approved scheduling a Final Budget Public Hearing for September 24, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. at the district office, 3293 Dellwood Terrace, LaBelle, FL. The tentative budget adoption is procedural and does not finalize tax bills; the final hearing will determine the adopted millage and budget. The record shows the board approved the two tentative budgets and will return for the final hearing on September 24.
