The Bellevue User Advisory Committee heard a report that outreach work that began at Labor Day and an online survey on the city website produced 43 responses to date.
"We got total of 43 responses," the Chair said, noting most respondents were Bellevue residents and that the survey sought a snapshot of existing conditions. Committee members said the response pool skewed toward established residents and homeowners, and the group agreed more targeted outreach is needed to broaden participation.
Carissa, a committee member, said bilingual staffing at community tables had worked in the past: "We've had someone posted at the Hunger Coalition before, a bilingual person with the survey and tablet." Members recommended replicating that approach at local businesses and churches, and discussed a midstream special survey or October flyer to increase response counts.
The committee agreed staff will refine outreach materials and the Chair said the group will produce revised theme definitions and follow up with a targeted outreach plan. The committee did not take a formal vote on survey changes at the meeting.
