San Jacinto County approved a contract to upgrade county telephone service from legacy copper lines to fiber with Frontier, covering precincts and certain offices for a 12-month term. Commissioners discussed existing bills (the judge said the judge's office and another office pay about $1,200 monthly) and anticipated monthly savings of approximately $600 to $700.
"It's gonna save us $600 or $700 a month," the judge said while supporting the motion. The court approved the contract by unanimous voice vote and instructed staff to finalize the agreement and bring it forward for signature as needed.
