San Jacinto County commissioners voted unanimously to approve a variance permitting Kent and Linda Opel to split a 10-acre tract in the William R. Sanders survey (abstract 269) into two separate 5-acre parcels. The court heard confirmations from staff that both resulting parcels would have more than 450 feet of highway frontage, available power and water, and a five-foot drainage easement encircling the property.
"It looks good to me," the presiding judge said during the discussion before calling the vote. The motion was made by Commissioner Natuno, seconded by Commissioner Dominic, and carried 5–0. County staff noted that tax certificates for the property were current and that no new roads would be required for the split.
