Pixley PUD delays Park Village reactivation, asks staff to review prior settlement

District Engineer Maija Madec said Park Village currently has service for 91 tiny homes and shared facilities and that connection fees for 33 additional spaces were paid in 2009. District Counsel Chad Lew said his understanding of the Settlement may prohibit placing a master meter at the public right of way and advised the board to review the documents. The board decided not to approve a Will‑Serve letter at this meeting but directed staff to research meter arrangements, confirm whether the 33 units are already counted in the district’s capacity, and report back at the next board meeting.
Staff noted there are roughly 10 meters serving the property and that some meters are on private property, which may require replacement or relocation; staff recommended evaluating the condition of existing meters and considering a master meter only after review of the Settlement. The board’s direction preserves options for reactivation while ensuring legal and operational issues are clarified in advance of any formal approval.
