In executive session Florence board directs city attorney on Tabor claim and accepts park employee resignation

At 7:05 p.m. the Florence Mayor and Board entered executive session to consider a Park Department personnel matter and the possibility of pending litigation. In executive session the board directed City Attorney Bobby Lingold to draft a letter to C-Spire and MSI, Inc. stating that the city is not liable for the Tabor Claim; that motion was made by Alderman Brent Sistrunk, seconded by Alderman John Banks, and carried with all five aldermen recorded as voting aye.
Also in executive session, the board accepted the resignation of park employee Randy Myers effective June 30, 2025, on a motion by Alderman Grantham seconded by Alderman Banks; the motion carried with all five aldermen recorded as voting aye. The board returned to open session at 7:16 p.m. and adjourned at 7:17 p.m.
