Mayor's recommendation yields slate of appointments and sets mayor salary at $70,000 full-time

Mayor Trey Gunn recommended a series of appointments that the board approved July 1, including Brian Grantham as Mayor Pro-Tem; Attorney Bobby Lingold as city attorney and prosecutor; Engineering Service/Tim Parker as city engineer; Linda Wigley as City Clerk; Windham & Lacey, PLLC as municipal auditors; Brad Burns as Police Chief; Melissa McCue as Court Clerk; Kevin Stewart as Municipal Judge; Witney Adams as Judge Pro-Tem; and Greg Hemphill as Indigent Attorney. Most motions carried unanimously; Alderman Grantham recorded an abstention on his Mayor Pro-Tem appointment.
Separately, the board approved a motion to make the mayor position full-time effective August 1, 2025, with a salary of $70,000 annually. That motion, made by Alderman John Banks and seconded by Alderman Brent Sistrunk, carried unanimously. The minutes show the board authorized execution of relevant agreements where applicable (city attorney and city engineer agreements) and recorded votes where abstentions or non-participation occurred.
