The City of Florence board on June 17 approved final payment of invoice M25017-D-01 to Maintenance Systems, Inc. for $12,070.93 to cover emergency repairs to the Florence Main Street water line. The motion was made by Alderman John Helms and seconded by Alderman Trey Gunn and carried by a unanimous vote.
Officials said the repairs were declared an emergency because they were required to maintain continued water service to the community. The item was taken up near the start of the meeting after Mayor Morris called the session to order and confirmed a quorum.
