Planning director: Watershed Master Plan approved but implementation constrained by SB 180; Adaptation Plan underway

Planning & Development Director Mr. Lear summarized permitting and code work in 2025 and described a technical memorandum prepared by the Town’s Watershed Master Plan (WMP) consultants. He said the WMP recommendations were approved by the Town Council in 2025 but that Senate Bill 180 currently prohibits implementing those recommendations.
Mr. Lear also reported that the Town is drafting an Adaptation Plan to address vulnerable areas and that a special joint meeting of the Planning Board and Town Council will be scheduled later in the year to review the project prior to completion. No implementation timeline was provided beyond the planned joint review.
