Board authorizes bid for Castle Circle elevation after flooding concerns

Engineer Tommy Perry described a flooding problem on South Castle Circle (Unit 8) and recommended the road be raised a minimum of 8 inches, replacement of a culvert, and repair of affected driveways. He estimated the affected segment at roughly 750 feet and about five homes. "The road needs to be raised a minimum of 8 inches," Perry said. The board authorized creating and advertising a bid for the project and granted the general manager the authority to award the contract to the lowest qualified bidder; any award will be ratified at a subsequent meeting.
During discussion residents and board members asked about the project scope, driveway impacts and how the work will be coordinated with property owners. The board approved proceeding to bid to address the flooding, and staff will prepare bid documents that reflect the required base work, asphalt replacement, culvert specification and driveway restoration.
