The Port LaBelle Community Development District Board of Supervisors on July 24 adopted a proposed tentative millage rate of 4.7724% and a proposed operating budget of $4,008,694.98 for fiscal year Oct. 1, 2025, to Sept. 30, 2026. The board approved Resolution 2025-5 after reviewing four budget options tied to road-improvement planning; the adopted Option C sets the capital projects budget at $2,045,796.65.
General Manager Judi Kennington-Korf opened the first of three public budget hearings and noted the district’s estimated taxable property value rose from $484,054,675 in 2024–25 to $626,185,087 for 2025–26, an increase she summarized as "over 29%". Chairman Jason Martinez said the board typically adopts the highest rate needed at the first hearing and "without heroic means, once adopted, the Board cannot go higher than the rate adopted at the first hearing but can go lower." The roll call on Resolution 2025-5 was Hollis Yes, Imhoff Yes, Garcia Yes, Herrera Yes, Martinez Yes; the motion passed at 6:02 p.m.
The board also set a follow-up public hearing to further review the tentative budget for Sept. 11, 2025 at 5:30 p.m. at the District office, 3293 Dellwood Terrace, LaBelle. The hearing is the next scheduled opportunity for residents to comment before the district adopts a final millage and budget.
