Mayor Christina Giordani and staff presented a draft strategic-priorities worksheet and solicited council input on goals for 2026, emphasizing infrastructure, balanced growth, public safety and stronger community engagement. The presentation summarized 2025 progress and proposed measures of success such as getting the MBR wastewater system operational and adopting the updated transportation master plan.
Council members recommended focusing on measurable projects within those broad priorities, asked staff to tie priorities to FY2027 budgeting, and agreed to complete individual worksheets and return them by the end of the week. The mayor said staff will consolidate submissions and present a follow-up work session on Jan. 26 for further categorization and selection of six council champions for priority areas.
