Selectboard member Ian Albinson presented a slide show explaining a potential Local Option Tax (LOT): the purchases it would apply to, anticipated revenue, and proposed spending uses. Albinson said the presentation and supporting material "will be posted on the Bristol website."
Separately, Chair Peeker Heffernan raised the delinquent‑tax penalty percentage, and the board agreed "some level of penalty is needed as an incentive" but that the town should clarify that the penalty is charged only after the last payment due date and only on the unpaid amount at that time. The board also agreed to explain at Town Meeting why the Police District expansion question was not included in the Reports section unless it is raised from the floor, and discussed possibly engaging a consultant to support community engagement for a potential 2027 Police District vote.
